Hiroshi Sugito (1970 - ), despite his youth, is a painter representative of the world of modern Japanese art. Using delicate colors and familiar motifs, Sugito’s work is filled with the vigor of modernity and presents a swelling hope for the future of the viewer.

Born in Nagoya, Hiroshi Sugito became appreciated as soon as graduation from university and has made his career with many exhibition in Japan and abroad. In October of this year, Sugito became an associate professor at the Tokyo University of the Arts, expanding the breadth of his activities. This exhibition includes a number of new works created specifically for the exhibition space at the Miyagi Museum of Art, allowing visitors a unique experience of the artistic vision of Hiroshi Sugito.
