Vincent van Gogh, at the beginning of his career, painted mainly with dark tone. But through his Paris period, his style changed radically into post-impressionist.
In Van Gogh Museum (Amsterdam) many records and oeuvres of the Gogh’s Paris period have been researched, and the result was shown through the exhibition Van Gogh in Paris: New Perspective (2011). For example, one of the paintings thought as an auto-portrait of Van Gogh was then presented as a portrait of Theo, brother of Vincent.
Our exhibition is based on this exhibition. 52 works will be exhibited, including 8 auto-portraits of Paris-period.
