After becoming immersed in the ambiance of the Taisho Era, a time in which the idea of art as a statement of the perspective and individuality of the artist permeated society, some artists emerged from the world of Japanese painting to demonstrate their own individual styles. This exhibition will feature the works of four artists: Keisen Tomita, who popularized the New Nanga (southern painting) style; Ryushi Kawabata, who created epic pieces that would attract attention at exhibitions in order to appeal to the masses; and Hitoshi Komatsu and Chikuha Otake, who also made their own paths.
