The Pola Museum of Art opened in 2002 in the Sengokuhara district under the concept of symbiosis between art and nature in Hakone.
The current exhibition introduces 71 carefully selected masterpieces from the　museum’s Western painting collection, allowing visitors to witness the various developments within the history of modern Western art. Works displayed include paintings by Impressionists Monet and Renoir, Symbolist Redon, Neo-Impressionist Signac, Post-Impressionists Cézanne, Van Gogh, and Gaugin, and 20th century painters Picasso and Chagall.
