"Delicious Healthy Miyagi" was held on February 8 at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Dover City, Delaware, with the purpose of introducing brewed products to new markets.
Outline of Event:
Delaware and Miyagi became sister states in 1997, and during Governor Murai's Delaware visit in 2007, there was an agreement to shift towards economic exchange. This agreement was formalized when the Director-General of the Commerce, Industry and Tourism Department led a delegation to Delaware in 2009 and signed the Agreement of Exchange with Secretary of State Jeffrey Bullock. Specific efforts for economic exchange include Miyagi Prefecture's attempts to introduce Miyagi's products into new markets. For this "Delicious Healthy Miyagi" event, Miyagi's brewed products were highlighted, and in addition to explaining and providing samples of Japanese sake and Sendai Miso, the prefecture was also able to create opportunities for business and opinion exchanges.
